Parking

You will find ample free parking in Craig Walk or alternatively 30 yards up Biskey Howe Road on the right hand side.

From the south

Leave the M6 at junction 36.

Follow the slip road off the motorway and turn left at the roundabout and follow the signs to Windermere (A590).

Continue for approximately 3 miles. The A590 branches off to the left ignore this and continue straight ahead, the road becomes the A591.

Continue on the A591 bypassing Kendal and continue for a further 5 miles before turning left into Windermere (Tourist Information Centre on left). Proceed through the one way system heading down the hill towards Bowness.

After about a mile you will see the Police Station on your left hand side on the junction with Craig Walk. Take the next left and turn into Beresford Road (Messinas Restaurant on corner) and continue to the junction before turning right back into Craig Walk.

number 80 is at the end of Craig Walk on the right, opposite the junction for Biskey Howe Road.

From the north

Leave the M6 at junction 40.

Follow the A66 to Keswick for about 2 miles before turning left onto the A592 past Ulswater Lake through Patterdale and Troutbeck before emerging onto the A591.

At this mini roundabout which controls a cross road, go straight ahead to Bowness. After 1.5 miles turn left at the pub on the T junction and go uphill on Lake Road. Pass the cinema on the left hand side and take the next right turning into Biskey Howe Road. After 100m turn left into Craig Walk. number 80 is one of the first houses on the left hand side.

An alternative route is to continue down the M6 to junction 37 and head through Kendal and follow the signs for Windermere A591 . At this point refer to directions from the South.
